  • Analyze how media uses reoccuring motifs and character types to connect to a larger, cultural knowledge.
  • Are there unfair stereotypes? Are there any generalities that hold true?


There are twelve archetypes that are commonly referenced in everything from psychology to literature. Though they vary in name, twelve common ones are shown below. Can you think of any familiar characters that fit into one of these categories?
